Integrated Printing Solutions is certified by American Express
IPS approved to run American Express Debit/Gift cards
Centennial, CO (Sept. 1, 2010) — Integrated Printing Solutions (IPS), a premier provider and innovator of card personalization and fulfillment strategies for some of North America’s largest businesses, has been certified by American Express to run its Debit/Gift cards.
American Express carefully reviews the capabilities of many businesses each year to produce its credit cards, based on a long list of criteria. Earlier this year, American Express chose IPS to produce cards for its third tier customers.
“To be chosen by American Express is a great accomplishment.” said Sev Spagnolie, founder and chief executive officer of IPS. “I am very proud of the IPS team in all that has been accomplished since December 2009.”
“We decided to go secure in December and by June 2010 we had certifications with Visa and MasterCard. This is a great win in such a short time,” Spagnolie said.
“Approvals like this one from American Express are proof that IPS is further penetrating the secure card market,” added David Gandini, President and Chief Operating Officer at IPS.
“Our continuing investments into our physical plant played a huge role in the American Express certification. Those include a Class One vault for plastics, significant improvements to camera and badge access infrastructure, the addition of secure shipping and receiving capabilities, and additional physical security measures at the main visitor entryway and around the company’s perimeter.”
Equipment improvements also played an important role, added Gandini. They include the addition of a duplex DOD and emboss characters to data cards for open loop cards. And to address added volume, the addition of two Shanklin automated shrink-wrapping machines, the addition of a second GaVehren machine for further affix capability and additional heat seal capability will greatly help with secure packaging, he said.
After many years in the print industry, Spagnolie founded IPS in 1997. After several successful years as a print broker and recognizing the need to stay competitive and ahead of the market, he introduced in-house manufacturing to IPS and a new company direction – the move to plastic card production and personalization. Today, IPS is one of the fastest growing, independently owned companies in the card personalization and fulfillment industry.
With more than 70 employees, the privately held company provides solutions in card and card personalization services, on-demand digital card printing and fulfillment, distribution and
warehousing, commercial printing and direct mail, as well as print management for the retail, health care, prepaid card, financial and advertising industries.
IPS operates its main card facility in Centennial, CO., with capacity to produce more than 160 million card packages annually. The ability to manage highly sensitive data, component inventories, custom reporting and all mailing services is the company’s core competency.
